Testing Tips
- Measure liquids accurately using a syringe by drawing up the plunger until the bottom seal of the plunger is at the desired volume mark. Do not raise the liquid to the mark as this will give a false high volume. An air gap between the plunger and liquid is normal.
- Clean, dry cuvettes should always be used to prevent dilution. Whenever the cuvette is placed inside the checker, it must be completely dry on the outside and free of any fingerprints, oil or dirt. Wipe the cuvette thoroughly using our microfiber cleaning cloth or a lint-free cloth prior to insertion.
- The syringes and tips should be clean and dry as well. Do not rinse with tank water. Rinse with deionized (RODI) water only. Keep the tips with their appropriate syringes during measurement.
- Ensure the sample does not contain any debris.
- Shaking the cuvette can generate bubbles and this can cause higher readings. To obtain accurate measurements, remove any bubbles by swirling or gently tapping the cuvette.
- Do not let the reacted sample stand too long after the reagent has been added as this could affect the accuracy of results.
- Discard the sample immediately after the reading has been taken or the glass may become permanently stained.
- Clean the syringes and tips before storage.
